Suzanne graduated from the University of Minnesota with a double major in social welfare and psychology and went on to the Hamline University School of Law. She practiced in the area of family law as a sole practitioner and served on the Hennepin County Probate Court Conservatorship/Guardianship attorney panel for many years, as well as volunteering at VLN. She volunteered at VLN because of the personal satisfaction of giving back to one's community in a way that only legal professionals can, but also due to the excellent training programs VLN offered and continues to offer its volunteers. Suzanne originally was hired by VLN in 2000 as the McKnight-funded family law staff attorney. Suzanne lives in Golden Valley with her husband, Tom. She has three grown children, and one grand-daughter. The family has regularly volunteered for the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery in its "Cooking for Kids" program for almost ten years.
